Mike Kinsella
Mike Kinsella never allowed himself to be shadowed by older brother Tim despite joining him in Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, and Owls. Showing that he is not just a drummer, Mike set himself apart from brother Tim starting with The One Up Downstairs. Parting from the unconventional influence of his brother The One Up Downstairs (while only recording three tracks) saw Mike as the front man. American Football was a short lived project that has continued to amaze and inspire listeners to this day - developing a sentimental sound and harmony with soft vocals. Realizing that being a part of a band isn't always easy Mike did the only logical thing- reinvented himself. Using the moniker Owen -Mike started his solo career. Admittingly receiving assistance now and again Mike developed his own style and sound that has impressed fans - and allowing Mike to shine forth - to some - above his older brother.
