The One Up Downstairs was a very short lived project put together by Mike Kinsella, Steve Lamos, David Johnson, and Allen Johnson. Together long enough to record three songs - broken up before those songs were released to the world- and then years of anticipation - begging - word got out that the band existed and after American Football broke up devoted fans wanted anything bearing resemblence to American Football - short lived projects with a small amount of songs recorded - and after years of waiting - Polyvinyl released those three songs through itunes for digital downloading- and finally put the three songs to vinyl 12 years after the intended release of these songs. Upon breakup Allen and David Johnson went to join Very Secretary and Steve Lamos and Mike Kinsella formed American Football.
